Quapaw Indian Print
Individual prints from Indian Collection (11x14) horizontal. Each one features a male and a female between the late 1700's and 1875 when the Indians went from leather to cloth material. I tried to present a manner of housing and environment for each tribe. I signed the work Charlie Happyheart as a ghost artist name for a counterpart to Good Time Charlie, not an attempt to insinuate the artist is "Indian", only wishing to enter into the spirit of the project which was most of 11 years work. The whole reason for doing this project was to honor the people groups represented here so the specific knowledge of the tribes can be passed on to preserve the culture and heritage for the future and I must say that my name is Charlie and it gave me a Happy Heart to research and make the entire collection of tribal art.
